League of Legends Brand Counters Season 14

Share

Ever since becoming a viable support pick, Brand has been known for annoying even the strongest-willed support opposition. The cause of stress when playing against Brand is mostly related to how strong his kit is.

Regardless of how bad a Brand player plays, their kit will always allow them to be stronger than they should be. However, despite being so strong, there is quite a list of champions that can be used as an antidote to Brand, so lets go over the list!

Best Brand Counters Season 14

Janna

Janna-Splashart title

One of the most well-equipped champions to handle Brand is Janna. Her kit has so many tools that can be used against this champion. Janna’s shield allows her to counter most of the damage that Brand can produce by poking. Janna also has a Q that can be used to zone Brand and a W that can slow him, and enable your ADC to kill Brand easily. However, all these aside, it’s also important to mention the most valuable Janna’s resource, her ultimate. The AOE heal of this spell is enough to counteract pretty much all the combo damage Brand can unleash upon your team.

Senna

Winterblessed Senna Splashart

Senna is another viable and consistent counter to Brand. Most of her countering strength comes from her long range. The long range enables her to outrange Brand, and have much stronger trades. Senna’s counter power progressively increases through the game, as she gets the ability to pick up her soul stacks and further increase her range.

Pantheon

Pantheon Splashart

Pantheon is a great pick if you do not want to fight fire with fire. He is a straight-up champion that won’t be exchanging poke with Brand, instead, Pantheon can just rush all-in Brand, and instantly win the trade. With Pantheon, you can look for kills on Brand as soon as lvl 3 hits, and you have your key basic abilities unlocked. Later in the game, you can do the same, and the process will be much easier, especially if you build some magic resist items (potentially Maw of Malmortious).

Vel’Koz

VelKoz title

Vel’Koz is Brand’s bane of existence. The champion does pretty much the same things as Brand, but he does them with a longer range. Vel’Koz can consistently out-trade Brand in the lane, forcing Brand to either retreat and lose on minions’ XP, or eventually die due to insufficient HP to fight back.

Pyke

pyke splashart

Another great counter to Brand is Pyke, but playing Pyke well can be hard to pull off. Anyhow, if you are down for an adventure, Pyke might be your cup of tea. The champion can drag Brand close to himself and an ally then stun him with his E. The stun will mark the beginning of the end for Brand, as your lane companion will have enough time to completely annihilate him. Finally, I would have to add a word of caution to this recommendation. If you are playing Pyke, you are expected to land most of your hook and E charges, otherwise, you can be in deep trouble, failing to make any contribution to your team.

Final Thoughts

Brand is a champion whose design annoys many, but thankfully there are ways to dismantle this pick. The best way to fight against the Brand is to pick a great counter, this way, you will actually capitalize on their Brand pick. A good brand counter should either have great range, great close-up damage, or a mix of those. Having said all that, I think you should be ready to face Brand again!
